ATS compatibility
Good

Visually rich. Where you know the posting is ATS-screened, export a second copy using the ATS template.

Work history as a timeline on the left, a card-based information column on the right, with an initials badge, colour section labels and skill meters. It stands out in fields where portfolio and presentation matter.

Layout

How the Creative template is built

Knowing how information sits on the page before you pick a template directly affects how your application gets read.

Initials circle

Without a photo your initials appear in a large circle in the accent colour. With one switched on, a framed portrait replaces the circle. Either way the header stays full and balanced.

Timeline experience

Work history is set as a timeline with a vertical line on the left and a point at each entry. Career progression is followed visually, which works particularly well with a steady record of promotion.

Colour section labels

Section headings in the main column sit inside filled colour labels, while sidebar headings are quieter, set simply in colour. The contrast establishes a visual hierarchy between the two columns.

Project cards

Projects appear in cards on a light ground. In portfolio-led applications this becomes the most eye-catching part of the page.

When not to choose this template

  • For careers portal applications — the density of visual elements raises the parsing risk
  • For banking, legal and public sector applications — it does not match the expected visual language
  • If you have little experience — a timeline with one entry looks sparse

You can compare the alternatives side by side in the template comparison table.

Frequently asked questions

About the Creative template

Which roles does the Creative template suit?

Graphic design, content, social media, architecture and interior design — fields where presentation is itself a signal of competence.

Could this template get my application rejected?

There is no risk for applications sent by email or alongside a portfolio. If you are uploading to a careers portal, export a second version from the ATS template with the same content and upload that instead.

Are the skill indicators necessary?

They are there for visual balance, not necessity. If the level does not matter to you, leave them all equal — an ATS does not read these indicators anyway.
