Layout
Single column + compact footer grid
ATS compatibility
Good

The two-column footer band can reorder in some older parsers, so anything critical is kept in the single column above it.

A centred classic header, serif typography and double-rule dividers. Education, skills and languages are gathered into a compact two-column band at the foot of the page so a long career still fits. Built for director and executive applications.

Layout

How the Executive template is built

Knowing how information sits on the page before you pick a template directly affects how your application gets read.

Classic centred header

The name sits centred in spaced capitals, with the title and contact line beneath, separated by two fine horizontal rules. It has the feel of corporate letterhead.

Serif typography

Body text is set in a serif face. It eases reading through longer paragraphs and gives the document a corporate weight — the register expected at executive level.

Centred italic summary

The summary is centred and set in italics, designed for a short, confident executive statement. Anything beyond three or four sentences starts to feel heavy in this form.

Compact footer grid

Education, skills, languages and certifications gather into a two-column band at the foot of the page, leaving the upper portion entirely to the career narrative so a long history still fits on one page.

When not to choose this template

  • For careers portal applications — the two-column footer band can reorder in some older parsers
  • For graduates or first applications — the layout assumes a senior history and looks empty without one
  • At technology companies — serif typography can read as too formal in that sector

Frequently asked questions

About the Executive template

How many pages is the Executive template built for?

Designed for two pages. The compact footer grid keeps even a fifteen-year history tidy. On a one-page resume the lower band can look empty.

Does a serif typeface affect ATS reading?

No. The choice of typeface does not change the text layer and parsers read the characters identically. The thing to watch in this template is the two-column band at the foot.

What if I want to add a publication list?

You can use the Projects section as a publication list — the upper page runs in a single column, so long lists flow cleanly. For academic applications the Minimal template is also a good alternative.
